The tale of Alibaba has often been narrated so we have chosen to tell it in a different style. Alibaba, a poor woodcutter, had a brother named Kasim who strayed from the family in childhood. Kasim grew up to be Jabir, a confident minister of Sultan. To gather his personal power Jabir extracted undue revenues from the public much to their disliking. Public had no access to Sultan, so their protests were of no avail.

Jabir dreamt of marrying Princess Farzana and to be an heir of Kingdom. To fulfill his life's mission Jabir met with a strong opposition from non other than his own brother Alibaba. In one of the encounters Alibaba had with Jabir, Alibaba had to flee and take shelter in a ravine, which led to the den of Abu Hassan and his forty thieves. Alibaba captured Abu Hassan's treasures and freed dancer Margina, but fell in her love.

Princess loved a commoner named Nasser. Irritated by Princess's indifference to him Jabir planned to abduct her and put the blame on Alibaba. Sultan announced to reward the rescuer of Princess to his desire's content. Farzana was rescued by Nasser and Alibaba. When Nasser demanded Farzana's hand in marriage, Sultan refused to grant his wish. In disguise, Alibaba come to the court to remind Sultan of his promise, but was arrested by Jabir and was sentenced to death for his crime. Nasser seeked the life of Alibaba from Sultan in place of his wish of Princess' hand. Alibaba was set free, but a blind man.
